Mick Colliss is an award-winning advertising copywriter, published author, poet, broadcaster, sports commentator and emcee. He’s also one of Australia’s most in demand keynote speakers.

As a kid growing up, Mick had one dream – to play for Australia. He tried a number of different sports but could never quite manage to take that next step. He’d all but given up hope until fate stepped in, and he finally managed to pull on the green and gold and represent his country – just not in the way you might think.

Mick’s laugh-out-loud true story is a wonderful tale of persistence, hope, staying positive, mateship, finding a way to achieve your goals, overcoming failure and never giving up, no matter what the odds. He has entertained audiences at conferences, dinners and events right across Australia and overseas, including Asia, New Zealand, PNG, England and Canada, and had sold out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2024.

Mick is married to a former vice captain of the Australian women’s water polo team and both his sons have competed at the international level, making him the fourth best athlete in his family.
