Paul Steinmann is the CEO and Executive Director of ENAUTIC, an electric hydrofoil systems technology developer based in Western Australia. He has 30 years of experience as a senior executive, operational and technical manager within the Oil and Gas, shipbuilding and marine equipment sectors.

Paul is a proven marine technology innovator, having founded a marine technology company (Halcyon International Pty Ltd) to execute product development, IP protection, and a strategic market plan of what is now the VEEM Gyro product range. The technology was acquired by VEEM Ltd in 2011. Paul stayed on to lead the technical and commercial development of the product range, and assisted the company to list on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX:VEE) in 2016.

Paul began his career as a research scientist testing and developing keels, winglets and rudders for America’s Cup yachts. He then spent time as a project naval architect in the fast ferry industry, sales and service manager for an Australian ship stabilisation system manufacturer, consulting engineer to oil and gas field developments with a focus on FPSO developments, and prior to joining ENAUTIC was briefly working in project management in subsea construction, and consulting to a renewable wave energy developer.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from The University of Melbourne and an MBA from The University of Western Australia. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (FRINA) and a Chartered Engineer (UK Engineering Council). Paul is also a member of the Australian Institute of company directors (MAICD).
